Dream Holiday Destination…EUROPE

Eiffel Tower with Macaroons!!! Ya u will find it in Cafe at Eiffel Tower……

Basically a food blogger but in luv with nature and travel.  Inspired to pen down my experiences from my fellow bloggers,  Shiva and randomthoughtsbyhaya also rama arya.

At last I was in Europe. Began the tour from Paris, the city of love. Eifel Tower, seine river, Louvre, Notre Dam Cathedral, Castles, Disneyland. Only 2 days in hand and so much to see. Perfect weather condition made it more enjoyable trip. Standing under the Eiffel Tower and reaching on top, feeling was, you are on top of the world. Watched tower illumination while cruising on Seine. Hop on hop off for watching all tourist destination was a fun.  The whole city is photogenic and is notable example of architecture of all times from medieval to Modern age. The fact which makes the city unique is that, all buildings of this city is painted in same colour, i.e. off white. That is the official colour. It is also for keeping the heritage alive.

Being a foodie, was always looking for local food. Our tour manager had arranged our meals in Indian restaurants, but we were all for tasting local food. Finally we had it in Eifel tower restaurant, and from food joints near tourist spots and a beautiful café in Disneyland. I must say the food were so fresh and delicious at every place.  I am not going into details. Being in Paris and not shopping Perfumes!!! OMG, the tour is incomplete. We visited a perfume factory . It was wonderful, the whole process of perfume making has been displayed. I came to know many facts about various levels of perfume and the basis of pricing. It was very informative, now if I am buying any perfume, I know what should be checked before buying, for quality and longevity of the scent. We had great purchases from there and believed to be very authentic. I must say if you are not earning in EURO s, shopping will make a big hole in your pocket. The time flew and we were leaving for our 2nd destination, Switzerland. Let me share some of the beautiful photographs of the city. It was really difficult to choose from thousands of photographs, trying to do justice:

  The wonder tower !!!!!

The Disneyland….

We had decided to do our tour by road and we did not repent for it. The journey was very comfortable and picturesque. I was tired and thought of a nap during the journey. Oh my God! impossible, how can I miss the view. It was like landscape coming alive. Our 1st stopover was Geneva. Had a panoramic view of the city and got off near lake Geneva. Interesting Jet-d-eau i.e. jet fountain. Its free entry. Go near to it and you will get sprayed. Gud photospot. If you have time, go for cruising.

Geneva… Water jet… Broken chair stands across the street…a wood structure depicts opposition to land mines and cluster bomb… acts as reminder to politicians and visitors…

Next destination was Leysin. It was our 35th wedding anniversary. We went for gala dinner, and on the way while walking, there started the snow fall. In India I had visited several hill stations during peak winter to watch snow fall but unfortunately it never happened. Actually God had saved this special day for me for experiencing the snow fall.

That was our destination Gala Dinner. We had to creoss this snow to reach there. Oh it was fun….

Had fun till midnight and were all set for next  attraction, Junfraujoch.

Europe highest railway track….

We rode train from Interlaken. The journey itself was worth it. There was a change over in between. From the 2nd ride we got to see the beauty of Alps amazing panoramic view of the mountain. It started drizzling!!! Snow!!  Upon reaching the top, it was too windy, very cold but greeted by amazing views— glaciers and mountains on one side and valleys and villages on other side, simply breathtaking. You will see number of tunnels carved through the glacier and so many ice statues throughout. Paisa Wasool, worth every penny. Its once in a lifetime experience and man… do visit if you can make it.

Next destination Glacier 3000. Nature was at its best.  The weather was incredible, a clear sunny day and the experience on reaching, amazing, falling short of words. Breathtaking scenery, blue sky and white snow, brilliant!!! Its very expensive but worth it. Ride to the top, in wide glass window cable car,  then in open cable car (wow), snow bus, roller coaster which we missed because due to too much snow fall tracks got buried, it was closed. Finally Peak walk on world 1st suspension footbridge spanning two summits. Incredible!!! This footbridge is made and maintained by Tissot…and they have put on a giant sized wrist watch there on top…

I think, I have already written long. I shall pen down other destination details, Austria, Innsbruk, Venice, Rome, Pisa , Florence & Milan, next time. Few more of Switzerland…

Sarson ke khet…It is not Punjab… We found it during road journey… Di john mustard…

Yash Chopra statue… in Switzerland… Interlaken…. It is the garden where many Hindi films were shot…
