I have discussed in my earlier post regarding nutritional value of sprout. They are said to be rich in digestible energy, vitamins, minerals, proteins which are essential for human health. There are several ways to consume sprouts, raw or cooked. However, it is very important to know the do s and don’ts while consuming sprouts. Sprouts whether grown at home or purchased from market, should ensure it is not contaminated. So wash it thoroughly before consuming. If you want to consume it raw in salad, it is always safe to dip it in hot water for some time, strain it. I always prefer steaming it for 1 min. The crunch of the sprout is retained and is safe to consume. To make the sprouts colourful and interesting and tastier, any thing of your choice vegetables or fruits could be added to make it a wholesome meal. A glass of Chhach or juice alongwith this salad will be a cool combination of summer lunch.
