If you do not want to have a full meal, then help yourself with a bowl of salad. Salads are tasty & beneficial for health. Moreover best way to have maximum amount of vegetable in a diet is by eating wide variety of Salads every day. Salads do not cause bloating & they are filling too.
Salads are the easiest way to prepare. Traditionally, especially in India, Salad meant sliced Cucumber, Onion, Tomato , sprinkle black salt & lemon juice. But now time has changed, we find so many varieties of lettuce, vegetables, fruits, dressings, so it can be more creative, colourful & delicious too. If accompanie with feta, it will go to another level.
Personally I love Salads, whether it is Greens, Meati or a fruit salad. My family too are very fond of it. In fact I have to prepare one kind of salad everyday.
I am sharing the recipes in the hope you people will also try & give me the feedback.
- Salad leaf Purple ½ bunch
- Rocket leaves hanful
- Cherry Tomatoes halved 5
- Diced cucumber ½ cup
- Mix coloured Bell peppers long slices ½ cup
- Diced ripe papaya or mango ¼ cup
- Black olives 8-10
- Feta Cheese
- Red wine vinegar 1 tblspn
- Freshly grounded black pepper 1 tspn
- Lemon juice 1 tspn(optional)
- Honey 1 tspn
- Dry white mustard powder ½ tspn
- Extra virgin Olive oil 2 tspn divided
- Black salt ½ tspn or to taste
Prepare the dressing in a small bowl by mixing salt, pepper, mustard powder, vinegar, honey, and 1 tspn of olive oil. Whisk together with hand whisker and keep aside.
In salad bowl, put all the vegetables, tear the lettuce by hand, add olives. Feta cheese are very soft, so slice it carefully or just cut bite size pieces and arrange over the vegetables. Refrigerate it.
Pour the dressing just before serving. Mix well.
Spoon the saved olive oil all over.
Delicious salad is ready to be dug in.
